Sri Lankan Airlines is appealing to generous Singaporeans to donate useful items for victims of the deadly tsunami that hit Sri Lanka. Items like clothes, blankets, food, medicine, tents and even water purification tablets.
Donated items can be sent to : 133 Cecil Street,
Keck Seng Tower, #13-02.
(collection date 28 to 30/12/2004)
(office hours 0830 - 1730hrs)
Once collected, the items will be airlifted to victims in the affected areas.
Arrangements can also be made to collect large items and donations by e-mailing the carrier at sin_sales@srilankan.aero
Since the quake struck on Sunday, thousands of Sri Lankan were killed and many more made homeless.
Sri Lanka's President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga has also declared a State of National Disaster and is appealing for international aid.
The quake that struck in the Indian Ocean off Sumatra is the world's worst in 40 years. The number of dead and injured keeps rising.
